Blue Bird Pas de Deux

Perhaps the most dazzling dance duet of the international ballet repertoire, the Blue Bird “pas de deux” is from Act Three of the Sleeping Beauty, featuring Princess Florina and the Blue Bird.

They compete with each other spinning and fluttering in sparkling flight, in the supreme demonstration of the challenge of Petipa’s style–steel pointe work, sharply accented spinning turns, soaring leaps, high extensions, brilliant batterie, and daring lifts.
